Lincoln Shopping Information
Lincoln is home to various shopping markets, the most well known being the widely acclaimed, Christmas market. The Lincoln Christmas Market is one of the largest in Europe and attracts over 250,000 visitors every year. This four day event is spread over the uphill, historical centre of Lincoln. As well as various stalls, including; crafts, food and jewellery; there are traditional events such as beer barrel rolling and live music, there is also a Ferris wheel.
Lincoln also has a permanent market, Central Market Hall, Sincil street. This traditional and historical building is filled with modern retailers and boutique businesses set in the shopping heart of Lincoln.
Another popular market event is the, Lincoln County Farmers Market. The farmers market sells some of the finest foods the county has to offer. Including meat and dairy products. It takes place in City Square on the first Friday of every month and in the Bailgate on the third Saturday.
Visitors to the city can choose from various accommodation, ranging from hotels and guest houses, to caravans and campsites for those preferring to 'do their own thing'. All accommodation is inspected by the English Tourism Council, the RAC or the AA.
